Appearance
Numeric Stepper
Minus and plus buttons around a large readout for touch setpoints.
In Studio
In Studio, double-click Numeric Stepper in the Components category of the Components panel. It is added to the open view, where you can drag it into place.
When to use
Use Numeric Stepper for a setpoint an operator nudges on a touch panel, where a slider is too imprecise. Pick coarse-fine when a value needs both big and small steps.
Properties
| Property | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Value | String | (none) | The bound setpoint the readout shows and the buttons write. |
| Label | String | Setpoint | The accessible name of the control. |
| Variant | inline, stacked, coarse-fine | inline | How it looks: inline (default, buttons either side), stacked (plus above minus, for narrow spaces) or coarse-fine (a big readout and four step buttons). |
| Step | Number | 1 | The size of one step. In coarse-fine this is the coarse step. |
| Fine Step (coarse-fine) | Number | 0.1 | The fine step of the coarse-fine variant. |
| Min | String | (none) | Lowest allowed value when the bound tag declares no engineering range. Blank means open. |
| Max | String | (none) | Highest allowed value when the bound tag declares no engineering range. Blank means open. |
| Unit | String | (none) | The unit text after the readout. Blank takes the tag's engineering unit when it has one. |
| Decimals | String | (none) | Fixed number of decimal places. Blank derives it from the step sizes. |
| Requires Signature | false, true | false | Same contract as Button's Requires Signature — defers the write to the electronic-signature dialog. |
Binding
Click Bind… on the Value property and bind it to a tag or an expression to drive the live value.
To let an operator change the tag from this component, tick Bidirectional (read-write) on the binding. Without it the component only displays the value.
Writes ONCE, when the button is released (or the keyboard goes quiet): holding a button auto-repeats on screen without writing. The range is the tag's engineering low/high when it has them, otherwise Min and Max. It never steps from an unknown reading.
