Appearance
Checkbox / Radio Group
A checkbox group or a radio group, in classic, card or segmented style.
In Studio
In Studio, double-click Checkbox / Radio Group in the Components category of the Components panel. It is added to the open view, where you can drag it into place.
When to use
Use Choice Group for options and permissives: a radio group when exactly one option applies, a checkbox group when any number do. Pick segmented for two to five short options.
Properties
| Property | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Value | String | (none) | The bound tag the choice is read from and written to. |
| Label | String | Options | The accessible name of the group. |
| Mode | radio, checkbox | radio | radio (default) holds one option's value in the tag. checkbox holds a bit mask: option 1 is bit 0, option 2 is bit 1, and so on, so a single option is an ordinary 0/1 tag. |
| Variant | classic, cards, segmented | classic | How it looks: classic (default, marks beside text), cards (large touch targets) or segmented (one pill strip). A selected choice is drawn in the HMI selected slate. |
| Options (comma-sep) | String | Option 1,Option 2,Option 3 | The display text of each option, comma-separated. |
| Values (comma-sep) | String | (none) | Radio mode: the value written for each option, comma-separated and in the same order. Blank means the option text. Ignored in checkbox mode. |
| Direction | column, row | column | Stacks the classic and card options in a column (default) or lays them out in a row. |
| Requires Signature | false, true | false | Same contract as Button's Requires Signature — defers the write to the electronic-signature dialog. |
Binding
Click Bind… on the Value property and bind it to a tag or an expression to drive the live value.
To let an operator change the tag from this component, tick Bidirectional (read-write) on the binding. Without it the component only displays the value.
Writes on click. Checkbox mode reads the current mask and writes it back with one bit flipped, so two operators changing different boxes in the same instant can overwrite each other.
